Hey guys!!! Yasmim here. Today I wanted to talk about something super important. Forgiveness. We are human, and we make mistakes, some of which can be really hurtful to others and vice versa. When someone does something that upsets me, my natural reaction is to be upset. In the past, I would often hold on to things for a good while.I would make sure to remind that person of what they did constantly ,and I would only “except”people’s apologies because my mom told me to haha. However, as I’ve grown and matured, I’ve realize that holding grudges is actually more damaging and hurts more than what the person originally did. I started to truly understand the importance of forgiveness when I started spending more time studying the Bible, and a verse that I really love is Mark 11:25 which says “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your father in heaven may forgive you”. The Lord always forgives us when we repent, because he loves us and wants what’s best for us. People can often upset us with their actions or words, but we should forgive them just as the Lord forgives us. Sometimes it may be difficult, and may take time, but once you really do, you’ll feel so much better, as if a tremendous weight were lifted off your shoulders!
