psalms 116

hi friends , gabi here !! this is probably one of my favorite psalms , and i really wanted to share it with you guys tonight !! this psalm reveals so much of God’s character and grace for us , and is a psalm of gratitude . it tells the story of a broken sinner who was so close to death , so he cried out to the Lord , and the Lord graciously saved and delivered him . the person writing this was at the end of themselves , and couldn’t find a way out . but when they turned to God , He saved them and gave them hope . this is our story too , we were condemned and sinners , but Jesus sacrificed Himself and changed our identity so now we can be called children of God , He gave us hope and a purpose . the writer then goes on to say he will worship God and call out to Him for as long as they live. this is a beautiful representation of one of my favorite verses , we love Him because He loved us first . since God saved us and showed us compassion , we are free to worship and love Him now . since He showed us what love is , we can now love Him back . that is the biggest privilege I have and i think you have too , the privilege of being able to show love and worship somebody who is so perfect and so good .
