13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
hey y’all , it’s gabi here ! tonight i wanted to share matthew 7 with you guys , specifically verses 13-14 . matthew is my favorite book out of the 4 gospels , it just stuck with me for some reason lol . but these verses are towards the end of the sermon on the mount , and Jesus talks about the two gates . the way i see it , these two gates are at a spiritual crossroad , where YOU make the decision . i think that is really important to think about , at the end of the day following Christ is a decision . It is the most important decision you will ever make . Christ makes sure you know that deciding to follow Him won’t be all sunshine and rainbows , and deciding to follow Him won’t be the popular decision and many people will choose the “wide gate “ , and that is still so true to this day . following Christ in this difficult world isn’t always easy , and you really have to stay true to your values and keep your eyes on Jesus . but the good news is , it will all be worth it in the end . as difficult as the road may be , Jesus is the only way to life . as Robert Frost says “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.”
